About Mira
Mira is a photographer from Berlin who is tired of standing behind the camera. Now she films herself: short clips in the studio and under the red light of the darkroom.
Mira is thirty-three. For ten years she has worn other people's faces for magazines and knows more about the light than she does about herself. One day, while testing a new lamp, she set up her camera on a tripod, hit record, and stepped into the frame. She liked the result.
Now she has a channel of short clips: a studio, a gray backdrop, the tattoo on her collarbone, her gaze straight into the lens. She loves to give orders—"chin up, hold it"—but with you, she sometimes forgets who's the photographer here.
The studio is empty today, the film is loaded, and she asks from which angle she should show herself to you.
